Basement in Toronto

Finished Basement Interior Markham

Rustic Vibes of a Modern Home

Our client from Brampton has envisaged converting a basement into an ergonomically efficient and creative space that would be at the intersection of functionality and design.

This project underwent steps of 3D planning, working drawings, quote, and actual build. The project took 6 weeks and was delivered on time and on budget.

Living Area

Napoleon electric fireplace is elegantly captured into a plastered handmade pattern accent wall that perfectly aligns with a ceiling bulkhead and ends in an indentation for the fridge on the other side of the room.

In a gentle ambient light of cove fluorescent recessed ceiling lighting, a custom-made TV niche is surrounded with a beautiful result of a millwork – floating stained oak shelves and framed sconce light fixtures.

Wet Bar

A modern grey accent wall harmonizes well with the wooden beam, and yet adds a personal touch to the bar space. 2 custom build floating stained oak shelves in front of stone veneer quartz are highlighted with mellow lights.

Gym

We incorporated smart interior design features like exposed rusting ceiling, custom build jack post cover, glass partition wall and a full wall mirror to evoke the sensation of a large open space.

Bathroom

Centered in the basement behind the stairs we locate a beautiful 3 piece bathroom with custom shower accessible from the guest room and entertainment area. We used Pocket doors “shaker style” that slide conveniently into a wall cavity are incredibly stylish and space efficient.

Accents

Unique elements were added to an overall interior design to emphasize the charisma of this space. 2 custom build niches completed with elegant glass shelves and incandescent lighting.

Staircase

Existing straight staircase was fully replaced by a magnificently curved oak stair with iron pickets, oak railing and 2 end posts. In order to complete that, Harmony Basement had modified an existing ceiling joist to accommodate new staircase headroom according to the building code requirements.

Customer Testimonial

It was a great pleasure to work on this project, and we are happy to gain another satisfied client.

Very happy with the final results of the basement. We were able to use Diego’s creative ideas along with our Reasearch to get to the final outcome. I must say that we were picky on many things and asked Harmony to change things during the construction process for which they happily obliged. The 3d design before the actual construction began was the best part I must say. This helps you visualize. During the process we were assigned a project manager who was in-charge of workers on site.
Overall, we are happy and will get work done from Harmony in future as well.

Amazing Basement Transformation

A Project With An Obstacle

Here at Harmony Basement, we build not with bricks, but with passion. That is why we gladly took a project with a challenge.  We identified a problem that other contractors didn’t see: in the original home design, an HVAC duct was placed too low and required a support beam or a wall to be constructed for safety purposes.

Using an innovative 3D rendering technology allowed us to spot a problem in the original basement layout: the furnace and the ducts took most of the living space and had to be relocated. The new furnace and ducts placement solved the problem, opened up more space,  and added the desired functionality to the final basement design. Harmony Basement is proud to offer a 3D rendering for every project to help our clients to visualize their future basement before transformation takes place.

Simply Elegant

Nevertheless, the interior design was never a primary goal for this basement reconstruction, we added some beautiful features to make this basement unique. Open staircase walls add more space and air, visually expanding the area. A barn board accent TV wall gives the room a modern appeal which is neatly complemented by 70’’ Napoleon electric fireplace. A bright kitchen finished in light grey colours with a stylish wet bar, custom floating shelves, and functional backsplash.

Finding a perfect solution and accomplishing this project within the deadline and budget was another great victory for Harmony Basements. It gives us great joy to exceed our client’s expectations and hear the words of appreciation.
